In Old English, the word meat (“mete”) was a  blanket term for food. Nowadays, the definition of meat most commonly refers to the edible flesh of an animal. The primary benefit of meat is, of course, protein. Most meats contain high levels of vitamin B12, B6, K, as well as zinc, iron and and it also stores essential amino acids and collagen.

There are three main types of meats:

  • Red Meat: This is one of the most popular and includes beef, pork, goat, and lamb.

  • Poultry: Commonly known as “White meat”, includes chicken and turkey.

  • Seafood: Includes fish, as well as crustaceans, like crab and lobster, and molluscs, like clams, oysters, scallops, and mussels.

Even though there’s a group of main types of meats, there’s still a huge variety of products related and if you wanna go further, it’s time to know about Gourmet Meats.  And the best part is you’ll find them all at Caviar Lover.

Gourmet Meats is a whole universe of flavors. Today you’ll learn more about three specific types: duck, beef and spanish ham. And once you know about them, there’s a recipe to try at home. So, let ‘s begin!

How often do you eat Duck? Duck meat generally refers to the breast and legs of the animal, though the liver is also enjoyed as foie gras. Ducks have a layer of fat between the outer skin and mea, this gives an extra rendering power for soaking the meat with flavor as it cooks.

Beef is one of the most popular types of Gourmet Meats. Beef is not just tasty, it’s one of the single biggest sources of protein in the human diet. However, it should be eaten in moderation. It’s recommended to eat it in small portions and choose lean cuts. Beef is commonly seasoned with salt, pepper and spices or marinaded using ingredients like red wine, lemon juice, or soy sauce.

If you’re in the mood for international flavors, try Spanish Ham. Ham is a historically important food, dried and cured with salt for centuries. Although there are several types of Ham, serrano is the best known of all. It’s made from several different breeds of white pigs, fed mainly cereals and cured from 7 to 16 months and it’s one of the most representative foods from Spain.
